About
I founded UNLV Run Club in August 2026. I was going to run anyway so I though I'd make a club and meet people. I also noticed that no offical run club at UNLV so why not.
What started as an idea to find more people to run with turned into my first experience starting and managing a student organization.
Starting the Club
Starting a university club turned out to involve more than just getting people together to run lol.
I worked through the university's student organization registration process, found a faculty advisor, and began recruiting members through campus outreach.
Activities & Responsibilities
- Founded and registered an official UNLV student organization
- Organized weekly 5K group runs around campus
- Designed and distributed 75 flyers to recruit students
- Promoted the club through social media and campus outreach
- Coordinated with members to organize group activities
Progress
The club is still relatively new, but we've started building a small community of runners at UNLV.
It's been an interesting experience learning how to recruit members, organize activities, and keep a student organization running. Also interesting managing people.
